About the artwork: In this artwork I show myself cooking in the kitchen, this is an ode to my mother and all the women who spend all their lives making food for others. As I got older, I realized how my mother and women all around the world are strong warriors who choose to run a household which is a full time job in itself. This artwork shows an empowered woman cooking, I want to change the negative connotation woven into our culture that cooking is for disempowered women. I believe there is a silent power in kitchens all over India, that is the essence of my artwork.
